FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We answer your frequently asked questions about our premium Equitex saddle pads including materials, styles, fit and care instructions.

What are Equitex saddle pads made from?

The core of all Equitex saddle pads and half pads is made of high-tech responsive cold foam, designed for superior shock absorption, even pressure distribution, comfort, and reduced heat accumulation.

Every Equitex pad and half pad comes with a Premium Velvet underside to protect the horse’s coat and skin, while providing natural stability but at the same time movement freedom.

For the upperside, you can choose from our exclusive materials: Premium Velvet, AirTechUltra AirTech, Loden Wool or Felt. The decision is mostly a matter of personal style and preference, since each option is designed to support excellent performance, durability, and riding comfort.

How do I choose the right Equitex saddle pad?

We recommend choosing the right Equitex model for you and your horse by considering:

  • your riding discipline or style

  • your preferred upper material and colour

  • whether your horse shows any muscular imbalances that require a correctional pad

  • your horse’s conformation and the type/dimensions of the saddle you use

How do I fit my Equitex saddle pad?

To fit your Equitex saddle pad follow these steps:

  1. Place the pad gently in the correct working position

  2. Place the saddle on top of the pad

  3. Make sure 2-3 fingers of the pad are visible in front and in the back of the saddle

  4. Check that the spine channel is clear, if needed, slightly lift the pad at the front towards the saddle

  5. Fasten the girth to the saddle and you’re ready to go

For half pads, place it directly on the horse’s back/skin, then position your saddle pad on top.

  2. Soak in a bathtub and brush off dirt and sweat.
