EQUITEX TECHNOLOGY
More than a saddle pad – it’s the science of back protection and horse comfort. Developed by Johannes Spitaler, an equine osteopath with 35 years of experience in biomechanics and rehabilitation, Equitex merges biomechanical research and advanced technology for superior comfort, balance and durability. Designed to enhance your horse’s performance and well-being.
Equitex saddle pads satisfy the needs of both professional and leisure riders.
The unique design enables free muscle movement under the saddle and provides comfort for your horse’s back .
Relieves Saddle Pressure
Shock absorbing material relieves the horse of pressure.
5cm Spine Channel Clearance
Guarantees optimal relief for the spine
Shock Absorption with Perfect Adaptation
Provides even weight distribution and perfectly adapts to any horse.

No Hair Breakage
No coat rubbing and no hair breakage.

Multilayer Shock Absorption Unique multi-layer cold foam helps absorb impact, helps protect the horse’s spine and back, supports saddle fit and helps reduce pressure and strain on horse and rider.

Even Pressure Distribution Equitex pads are designed to distribute weight evenly, help minimise pressure points and support healthier, more balanced muscle development.

Optimal Thermoregulation High-performance fabrics engineered for breathability and durability, helping to reduce heat build-up, wick away moisture and support a balanced microclimate under the saddle.

Freedom of Movement A 5 cm spine clearance channel, anatomical topline cut and optimal grip help allow free scapula movement and support natural spinal mobility.

Elegance & Durability Premium Italian handmade saddle pads are crafted to endure hundreds of hours in the saddle, combining durability with timeless style and elegance while honouring the horse’s natural beauty.

Easy Care & Cleaning Equitex saddle pads are machine-washable, quick-drying, and stay elegant ride after ride, washing after washing for many years.

EQUITEX SADDLE PAD STRUCTURE
Multilayer protection for your horse
Equitex saddle pads feature multilayers. Layer by layer, carefully bonded for optimal balance - each element of an Equitex saddle pad works in harmony - absorbing shocks, distributing pressure, stabilising movement, and protecting what matters most: your horse’s back.

THE SCIENCE
Comparing some of the world's most popular half pads across the full range of materials on the market today, Equitex commissioned a leading Equine Scientist, Dr David Marlin, to carry out an independent trial of a range of new/unused saddle pads.
Out of the eight options tested under laboratory conditions the Equitex saddle pad offer the greatest reduction in average pressure.

It delivered a whopping 87% reduction in mean pressure compared with using no pad at all.

RESULTS
During dynamic testing simulating ridden pressure, the Equitex saddle pad reduced peak pressure by 84%.

The 'grip' effect of the individual pads was also assessed. The Equitex saddle pad had a moderate amount of grip, enabling it to prevent saddle movement but not too much to cause harm.

Too much grip may have a damaging effect on the layers of muscle and tissue under the saddle.
In independent pressure-mapping research (static and dynamic), Dr. David Marlin found that Equitex pads delivered the most consistent reduction of both mean and peak pressures, demonstrating lower mean and peak pressure values relative to the other products in the test group.
